برعاية سماحة المرجع آية الله الشيخ عبد اللطيف بري، وباشراف الحاجة الدكتورة هنية سلامة، أقام المجمع الاسلامي الثقافي الحفل التكريمي في مدينة ديربورن وضواحيها للمعلمين و المعلمات. حضر الحفل العديد من الشخصيات والمدراء والعاملين في المجال التعليمي. أفتتح الحفل بآيات من الذكر الحكيم تلاها الشيخ يوسف ياسين. ألقى كلمة المجمع أمينه العام الحاج فؤاد بري وحضر محاضرا الاستاذ عماد فضل الله حيث تحدث عن دور المعلم في المزج بين رسالته التعليمية والثقافة والتربية الاجتماعية. كذا وألقى الشيخ هشام الحسيني كلمة مختصرة ومن ثم اختتم الاحتفال بعشاء تكريمي.
The program started with a recitation of the holy Quran by Shiekh Yousif Yassin. The Islamic Institute Chairman Haj Fouad Berry spoke on behalf of the IIOK and acknowledged the teachers' dedication and commitment to their students. Keynote Speaker, Mr Imad Fadlallah, stressed on the importance of raising students with strong academic education, ethics and character. Mr. Fadlallah spoke of his own experience with teachers and students illustrating the significance and impact of teachers in the lives of our students. The event hosted more than 300 teachers who represent the vast majority of schools in the community and attended by Superintendent Dr. Maleyko and former Dearborn of Education President Mr. Hussein Berry. Shiekh Hisham Alhusseiny spoke briefly and the program concluded with dinner and refreshments.
