أقامت جمعية "Books For A benefit" الخيرية حفلها السنوي الثاني في نادي بنت جبيل الثقافي في مدينة ديربورن الامريكية. و انطلقت الجمعية من قبل التلاميذ نادين كامل جواد عصام محمد السنين.
و تعمل على تجميع الكتب الدراسية وتوزيعها على جميع الأطفال المحتاجين بهدف توفير فرصة مطالعة للتلاميذ.
وخلال الحفل، تناوب على الكلام كل من عضو الكنغرس الاميركي عن مدينة ديربورن ديبي دنغل بالإضافة إلى كلمة من رئيسة المجلس البلدي للمدينة سوزان دباجة. كما تخلل الاحتفال شريط مصور لكلمة من المشرف العام على مدارس ولاية ميشيغان بريان ويستون.
يذكر أن المؤسسة تديرنشاطاتها عبر تلاميذ من أربع جامعات وهم University of Michigan, Dearborn, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Wayne State University and Michigan State University.
Books for a Benefit Charity held its 2nd Annual dinner at Bint Jbail Cultural Center in Dearborn Michigan. This organization was founded by Nadine Kamel Jawad and Essam Mahmoud Al-Snayyan to promote literacy for underprivileged students in Michigan. In collaboration with the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and Dearborn, Wayne State University and Michigan State University, the organization has donated thousand of books, backpacks and school supplies to support and promote literacy throughout the area. Speakers at the event included Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, Dearborn City Counsel President Susan Dabaja and a special video message by Superintendent of Michigan Schools, Brian Whiston. This organization is led by students, for students.
