احتفلت مدينة ديربورن في الرابع عشر من حزيران بيوم العلم الوطني الأمريكي. وقد حضر الاحتفال كل من حضرة عمدة المدينة جون اورايلي وقائد شرطة المدينة رونالد حداد وعناصره، وكان من بين الحضور قضاة وشخصيات رسمية و أعضاء من المجلس البلدي لمدينة ديربون إضافة إلى نواب عن ولاية ميشيغان.
والجدير بالذكر أن مدينة ديربورن تعد من بين المدن القليلة في الولايات المتحدة التي تحتضن وتحي احتفالاً من هذا النوع كل سنة.
Dearborn held its annual Flag Day Ceremony at Ford Field yesterday evening (June 14, 2017). The Dearborn Allied War Veterans officiated over the proceedings and Mayor John B. O’Reilly delivered the keynote address. The ceremony is intended to honor America and dispose of flags that that are worn and should be retired. The Dearborn Fire Department properly burned the retired flags during the ceremony. State Senator Nicholas Hood III and several Dearborn Council members were in attendance. Dearborn Police Ronald Haddad and his team were also on hand to greet and assist hundreds of citizens who came to witness this historic event. Dearborn is one of only a few cities in the Nation to hold a ceremony of this type on Flag Day.
